Curious by Nature Preschool, Gig Harbor, WA

Dr. Lori Eide is an experienced Educator / Leader / Instructor / Energy Healer with 20+ years in the early childhood education (ECE), K-12, post-secondary, and transformational leadership fields. She founded Curious by Nature Preschool in Gig Harbor, WA in 2010, which still is a growing and thriving nature-based preschool. She combines her career as a technical writer/content strategist consultant for technology companies throughout the Pacific Northwest.

As a transformational leader, writer, and educator in both the non-profit and private sectors, she’s developed a balanced approach to organizational leadership that combines social justice and anti-racist responsibility with sustainable development. Her corporate expertise is in organizational leadership and transformation, identity and access management, data science and analytics, and technical documentation.

Lori’s passions include environmental and nature-based education, literacy, and culturally relevant, and diverse, equitable, anti-bias, and inclusive (DEI) teaching practices, and Reiki energy healing. Her research areas focus on experimentation practices that promote teacher leadership, data-driven decision making, sustainability, positive social change, and social-emotional learning (SEL) as a requirement in educational pedagogy and practice.

In her personal life, Lori practices New Thought spiritual principles, and in 2018 received her license as a Spiritual Practitioner (RScP) and became certified to offer Reiki energy healing sessions, a sacred practice to help her clients be heard, healed, encouraged, and spiritually guided. As a proud mother of Samantha, through adoption, and Maria, an international exchange student from Bangladesh, Lori embraces world cultures and languages. She grew up in a bilingual household (English and Spanish) and works on improving her ability to speak and write in both languages. She spends her days with her loving husband Cris, and also her dog, Kamiakin (Kam), and two cats, Odie and Elektra.
